Prophet Muhammad’s Struggles Form Better Lives for All

Peace is what we all desire for us to live a harmonious life in our conquest in this world. But peace cannot be peace until there is justice and equality. And justice and equality can only be brought about by truth. Tying all this relationships, in the absence of the truth, there can be no justice and equality and this complements the hindrance to attaining peace. This has been the struggle of Prophet Muhammad (saw) in his entire existence. It is his enthusiastic desire in discovering and spreading the truth which is said to be the religion of truth and goodness – ISLAM.

Almost the whole of Prophet Muhammad’s life was spent into the struggles he encountered against the dominating Meccan Elites which greatly opposed to the teachings of Allah (swt). There has been many obstruction and obstacles that were encountered by the Prophet but despite these hardships he endured all of it positively with a vision that in the end, the much awaited victory will not be suppressed but rather it will be granted. The prophet and his followers were even persecuted for ten years and another ten years were spent fighting against the dominating Meccan Elites. He was not at all mistaken because the victorious fleet for the seek of the truth soon came. People were now aware and guided by the Qur’an, the holy book of revelations.

What can be inferred from this life of struggles by Prophet Muhammad (saw)? It is actually when we start to positively believe in the things we do or when we do things the easier way when we’re torn by different options, that we tend to get closer and nearer to the goals we want to achieve. It is impossible to achieve what we want to attain when we do it impulsively and when we start it bulkily. As what our Prophet has exemplified, as much as he would want to spread the words of Allah vigorously, he didn’t hurry at all especially in converting non-Muslims to Muslims. Instead, he started with himself and then reached to the closest persons to him like his wife, cousin and friend for this is the easiest way to start his voyage. Moreover, he was never impatient and weak. He stood by his faith and vision. He never gave up despite the different challenges he experienced. He saw an advantage on what has been a disadvantage, when it was not possible to conduct the plan of action in Mecca he moved to Medina, he made a friend out of an enemy, and he remained pragmatic all those times. He took everything on the best positive way he can so as not to create violence and negative impacts regarding Islam. These things have been his way of achieving the success he was able to impart to us. During the jahiliyah period, life was a misery. It was a hell for most. People can be compared to beasts or to the lowest form of animals. With the struggles that the Prophet Muhammad (saw) were able to overcome, people were uplifted from the deepest corner of darkness. It paved way for the religion of truth and goodness and it is what he left for us to continue nurture and make Islam our basis for truth in our daily lives.
